I have a 5x7 autographed Mickey Mantle b/w. saying "thanks for trying bat master. Hope it helps" Do you know anything about these?

The photo you have came with the Mickey Mantle Bat master game, and features a facsimile autograph and message from "the Mick" The game never made it to store shelves because of safety issues. The games that were already made were sold as collectors items.

Occasionally the photo surfaces by itself on eBay and sells for about $75.-$125. in excellent to near/mint-mint condition. A good price considering the complete game sell for about $150.-$225. Condition of the photo is important and will dictate how much it sells for. A photo in less than excellent condition could still sell for about $50. I have several 9.5" x 12 photos of baseball players by C. M. Condon, published by Baseball Magazine Company, New York, Great shape in original mailing envelope. Do they have any significant value?

Referred to as Baseball Magazine Premium Photos. Designated M113 or M114 by collectors. I know of a Christy Mathewson that sold for $152. and if I remember this was
without the mailing envelope. The envelope will add a significant value to them.

Baseball Magazine began issuing these photos in 1910 or 1920 through 1950. Baseball Magazine Premium Photos are blank-backed sepia tone photos printed on semi-gloss heavy paper stock. You had to send away for the photos. They are listed in the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards which I do not have a copy of. You can view more information on this photo on the following page of the website: Baseball Magazine Company Premium Photo

I own a photo that reads "Instructional School of the NY Yankees, Phoenix, Arizona, 1950" The spring of 51 Casey Stengel held the 1st and only spring training in Arizona with the Yankees. Nothing indicates a 1950 Arizona trip but this is definitely the Yankees. What exactly is it that I have and when and where was it taken?

The New York Yankees set up spring training in Arizona in 1951. Like today ball clubs send prospect or rookies still wet behind the ears to play winter ball or "instructional leagues." They still have fall and Winter Leagues set up in Arizona.

This picture you have of the "New York Yankees Instructional School, Phoenix, Arizona, 1950" was most likely set up in November of 1950. The young players like Mickey Mantle that showed promise were invited to the "instructional" camp ahead of the established players, and In February of 1951 The New York Yankees joined them, and set up their spring training camp.

If you can locate a 1951 New York Yankees yearbook or scorecard you might be able to find an article about the camp, if not a roster.
