The Baby Talk Series consists of four
distinct sets totaling to at least 36
baseball themed advertising trade cards
illustrating babies in caricature with
enlarged heads. The cards were
published and copyrighted in 1889 by M.
F. Tobin, N.Y. The trade card pictured
above is from the nine card set given
the catalog designation H 804-1B. The
cards measure 3"x 4-9/16"
have a white border with the number "5"
and a red framing line. Each card has a
different title and baby name. This
card is titled 'Tan"oo"Tetch' with
Baby McKee.
The H804-1A, 9 card set has a white border with a back framing line, and
measure 3"x 4-1/2". The images are the
same as H 804-1B but with different
titles and font style. The H804-1C
cards, are the same as the H 804-1B set
but there is no identifying number.

not include a Baby name. The
complete set has 10 cards. The
H804-1D set consist of 8 known
cards that measure 3" x 4-9/16."
