NOTES:

The Jackoway and Katz Cap Company was established at 1231 Washington Street, in St. Louis MO, sometime around 1919. The company manufactured "Triangle Caps," a line of hats and caps for men, boys, and children. It was very common for a haberdashery to give away a Free baseball bat, or mitt with the purchase of a boys suit. This "Boys" canvas baseball mitt might have been part of such a premium during the 1920s.

The Logo pictured above features a Triangle In the center, which was patented by Jackoway and Katz Cap Co. in 1919. The top reads "Triangle Caps" the bottom "Jackoway-Katz"

Worthy of note: Many companies produced athletic goods such as baseball bats or gloves which was outside their standard production line to add extra income, to make up for the poor economy, brought on by the Great Depression of the 1930s. Woodworking shops, would produce baseball bats. Businesses that made leather goods or textile made baseball gloves.
